K-12 Experiential Learning & Study Space Station
Category: Educational & Research Space Station
The K-12 Experiential Learning & Study Space Station uses modular cultivation containers as a vehicle to combine plant growing, environmental observation, hands-on practice and scientific inquiry, providing schools with a venue for sustained experiential teaching. Through temperature, humidity, ventilation and lighting equipment, the station regulates the in-cabin growing environment, allowing students to observe crop growth up close, understand the relationships between water, light, temperature and crop growth, and connect classroom knowledge with the actual growing process.
The station adopts a modular design and can be deployed in line with available campus space, infrastructure and teaching needs. The container body provides insulation and environmental regulation, helping reduce the impact of external weather changes on growing activities and offering relatively stable conditions for daily observation and care. The specific crop varieties, suitable operating seasons and environmental control ranges depend on local climate, equipment configuration and growing requirements.
In teaching applications, schools can organize observation, recording, care and results-sharing activities around the growing process. Under teacher guidance, students take part in practical tasks suited to their age and operational ability, such as observing crop morphology, recording growth changes, checking temperature and humidity data, keeping growing logs, and comparing observations across different stages. Where conditions allow, projects can also include simple controlled observations that guide students to pose questions, gather information and discuss results based on actual records.
The station can also serve as a practical vehicle for science, labor, mathematics and information technology courses. For example, students explore the conditions required for crop growth in science activities, learn daily care and tool organization in labor practice, measure, tabulate and chart growth changes in mathematics, and understand the basic relationships between sensors, environmental data collection and equipment control in information technology. All activities should be designed in line with curriculum objectives and actual equipment functions; equipment display alone should not be equated with a complete teaching course.
Through group-based care, rotating record-keeping and staged sharing, the station gives students opportunities for sustained participation and collaborative task completion. Teaching organization should be arranged reasonably according to student age, crop characteristics and school management conditions; work involving electrical equipment, nutrient-solution preparation, disinfection and equipment maintenance should be carried out by teachers or competent management staff. Specific course content, growing projects and opening arrangements are subject to the school's teaching plan and the actual delivery solution.

Compiled from on-site photos and confirmed parameters · October 2026
A | Container Structure
A-01 Insulated Container Body (converted from a 40ft standard refrigerated container)
◆ Converted from finished refrigerated containers: sturdy structure, short conversion cycle
Converted from a 40ft standard refrigerated container. The exterior steel plates are spray-painted with anti-rust paint, the interior is fully clad in stainless steel, and the cabin floor is a textured aluminium-alloy floor that is slip-resistant, corrosion-resistant and easy to wash and drain, so it can serve long-term in the high-humidity conditions of a growing environment.

B | Environmental Control System
B-01 4HP Smart Energy-saving Heating & Cooling Unit
◆ Smart energy saving: approx. 30% less power than conventional units
The 4HP smart energy-saving unit is installed in the side compartment of the container, occupying no growing space; its powder-coated carbon-steel housing is corrosion-resistant. Working with the smart controller, it automatically cools and heats to maintain a 15-25°C growing temperature zone inside the cabin.

B-02 High-pressure Micro-mist Nozzles
◆ Approx. 5μm micro-mist for even cabin-wide humidification
30 stainless-steel high-pressure micro-mist nozzles are mounted on the cabin ceiling. Fine atomization and fast diffusion maintain 60-95%RH humidity with uniformity better than ±5%RH; the high-pressure piping is pressure-resistant, and clogged nozzles can be removed and cleaned, making daily maintenance simple.

B-03 High-pressure Micro-mist Pump Station / Water Treatment Unit
◆ Stainless steel pump station + brass pump body for continuous, stable high-pressure output
The power core of the micro-mist humidification system: with built-in filtration and pressure regulation, it provides a continuous, stable high-pressure water supply to all misting nozzles in the cabin.

B-04 Fresh Air Unit
◆ Forced fresh-air exchange keeps cabin air constantly fresh
A forced ventilation unit recessed in the container side wall, working with the negative-pressure exhaust system to continuously supply fresh air to the sealed cabin and discharge waste gas and excess moisture, preventing disease caused by humid, stifling conditions. The air-exchange frequency is automatically adjusted by the control cabinet according to the crop variety.

C | Supplementary Lighting System
C-01 SMD3030 Full-spectrum LED Light Bars
◆ Full-spectrum supplementary lighting with adjustable 0-1000lx illuminance
SMD3030 full-spectrum waterproof LED light bars are arranged along the cabin ceiling, meeting the diffuse low-light requirements of mushrooms during fruiting. Together with the smart controller they switch and dim automatically by variety and growth stage, with low power consumption and long service life. Supplementary lighting schemes for high-illuminance crops such as leafy greens can be customized on demand.

D | Cultivation System
D-02 Shelving Racks
◆ 2.3m-high vertical racks for high space utilization
Green powder-coated steel racks, 2 rows in the cabin; the multi-tier crossbar structure bears load evenly and suits bag-cultivated mushroom fruiting. Working with the misting and fresh-air systems, temperature and humidity are more uniform between upper and lower tiers.

D-03 Hydroponic Growing Channels / Plant Boards
◆ Customizable hole patterns on plant boards, suited to various leafy greens
Core component of the hydroponic mode: the number and spacing of holes in the plant boards can be customized by crop variety, enabling streamlined leafy-green production together with the nutrient-solution circulation unit. The boards are lightweight, easy to clean and disinfect, and reusable.

E | Intelligent Control System
E-01 Main Control Cabinet
◆ Touch-screen smart control, read and adjust on site
Custom smart control cabinet with a touch display, mode knob and audible-visual alarm integrated on the panel, allowing on-site viewing of real-time cabin data such as temperature, humidity and CO2. Once growing parameters are set, equipment such as cooling, humidification, ventilation and supplementary lighting runs automatically. Corresponding control programs are configured by crop type.

E-02 Temperature & Humidity / CO2 / Light Sensors
◆ Real-time multi-parameter sensing: the "eyes" of automatic control
Temperature, humidity, CO2 and other sensors are installed in the cabin, transmitting real-time data back to the control cabinet and cloud platform as the basis for automatic start/stop of cooling, humidification and ventilation equipment. The sensors feature radiation shields and are suspended in the middle of the growing area, so readings more closely reflect the actual crop environment.

E-03 4G Cloud Platform Gateway (mobile APP remote monitoring)
◆ Real-time monitoring via mobile APP: growing data at a glance
Cabin data is uploaded to the cloud platform via 4G/wireless network, and the mobile APP allows remote viewing of temperature, humidity, CO2 concentration, growing cycle and other information, as well as remote control of cooling, heating, exhaust, humidification and supplementary lighting. Real operating example: oyster mushroom cabin, 100 m², day 5.8 of cultivation, cabin conditions 19.7°C / 90.7%RH / CO2 926 ppm.
